Over the past 22 years, pets of all shapes and sizes have descended upon Ivy Chapel United Church of Christ for the mid-September celebration of the Blessing of the Animals. Following in the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi, we take this moment to bless the creatures with whom we share our homes and our planet.
Join us on Saturday, September 17 from 1-3 p.m., bring your animal friends (on a leash our in a carrier) with you to Ivy Chapel United Church of Christ, 620 N. Woods Mill Road in Chesterfield, MO.
Blessings, fellowship–and the inevitable tight leash or two, so make sure your pets are appropriately restrained–will take at the Eric Moody Pavilion near the main parking lot at Ivy Chapel.
Each year, we’re proud to partner with a St. Louis organization that serves animals and pets. This year, we’re partnering with the Bi-State Pet Food Pantry. They’ll be accepting donations of cat or dog treats, canned pet food and cat toys. Please join us in supporting this incredible organization.

We’re proud to announce the Ivy Chapel Blessing of the Animals is back for 2021.
Over the past 21 years in mid-September, we’ve welcomed dogs, cats, snakes, ferrets and creatures of all kinds to our beautiful pavilion. Following in the tradition of St. Francis of Assisi, we take this moment to bless the animals with whom we share our homes and our planet.
Join us on Saturday, September 18 from 1-3 p.m., bring your animal friends (on a leash our in a carrier) with you to Ivy Chapel United Church of Christ, 620 N. Woods Mill Road in Chesterfield, MO.
We’ll share a short prayer and you will receive a personal blessing.
This year we’re supporting the Center for Animal Rescue and Enrichment. Care STL is the official no-kill shelter of the City of St. Louis. You can support Care STL with a cash donation, or by purchasing items on their Amazon wish list.
We can’t wait to meet you – and your animals. See you then. Questions? Drop us a line.

Come one, come all (yes, four-legged friends, that means you) to the Ivy Chapel Blessing of the Animals. This year’s blessing will spotlight the Missouri House Rabbit Society of St Louis. This all volunteer, not-for-profit organization’s dual purpose is to rescue bunnies and educate all potential bunny owners. Some products which they use on a daily basis include: Paper towels, jugs of vinegar and laundry soap (Era HE or All free and clear). Any of these items would be greatly appreciated, as well as cash donations. Watch for more details.

Thanks to everyone who brought their furry (or shelled) friends to the 11th annual Blessing of the Animals at Ivy Chapel. We had a record turnout this year, despite the weather. And an extra-special thank you to everyone who made donations the Bi-State Pet Food Pantry. The food and funds will go a long way to helping struggling local families keep their pets in these tough economic times.

Thanks to all the creatures who joined us at Ivy Chapel… and for their owners who brought them!
We have always been blessed with good weather for this event…but this year was certainly one of the best. Dogs of all sizes and cats were in abundance.
Check out photos from the event, and contact us if you’d like a copy.

Dogs and cats — and even a rabbit, hampster and Russian tortoise — descended on Ivy Chapel in record numbers on Sept. 12th for the Blessing of the Animals.
This was Ivy’s ninth year for the Blessing of the Animals, and it was the busiest yet. It was also the ninth straight year we have been fortunate to have perfect weather.
This year, we were proud to accept donations for C.H.A.M.P. assistance dogs. Donations will ensure C.H.A.M.P. will be able to continue providing service dogs free of charge to adults and children with disabilities.
Thank you to everyone who shared their pets with us… and see you next year!
Here’s a short video of Moose the Russian tortoise, who stopped by to be blessed and to sample Ivy’s turf…
