HYMN – How Great Thou Art – #16

  1. O Lord my God, when I in awe-some won-der
    Con-sid-er all the worlds Thy hands have made,
    I see the stars, I hear the roll-ing thun-der,
    Thy pow’r thro’-out the u-ni-verse dis-played.

Refrain:
Then sings my soul, my Sav-ior God, to Thee;
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Sav-ior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!

  1. When thro’ the woods and for-est glades I wan-der
    And hear the birds sing sweet-ly in the trees,
    When I look down from loft-y moun-tain gran-deur,
    And hear the brook and feel the gen-tle breeze.

Refrain

  1. And when I think that God, His Son not spar-ing,
    Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in,
    That on the cross, my bur-den glad-ly bear-ing,
    He bled and died to take a-way my sin.

Refrain

  1. When Christ shall come with shout of ac-cla-ma-tion
    And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
    Then I shall bow in hum-ble ad-o-ra-tion,
    And there pro-claim, my God, how great Thou art.

  1. We gath-er here in Je-sus’ name,
    His love is burn-ing in our hearts like liv-ing flame,

    Ev-ery-one be-longs.
    Find-ing our for-give-ness here,
    We in turn for-give all wrongs.

    The Lord who pours the cup is ris-en from the dead.

    Come take the bread, come drink the wine, come share the Lord.
  4. We are now a fam-i-ly

HYMN – Here I Am to Worship – worship booklet, pp. 48-49

Light of the World, You stepped down in-to dark-ness
O-pened my eyes, let me see.
Beau-ty that made this heart a-dore You,
Hope of a life spent with You.

So, here I am to wor-ship, here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that You’re my God.
And You’re al-to-geth-er love-ly, al-to-geth-er wor-thy,
Al-to-geth-er won-der-ful to me.

King of all days, oh so high-ly ex-al-ted,
Glo-rious in heav-en a-bove.
Hum-bly You came to the Earth You cre-a-ted,
All for love’s sake be-came poor.

So, here I am to wor-ship, here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that You’re my God.
And You’re al-to-geth-er love-ly, al-to-geth-er wor-thy,
Al-to-geth-er won-der-ful to me.

And I’ll nev-er know how much it cost
To see my sin up-on that cross
And I’ll nev-er know how much it cost
To see my sin up-on that cross.

So here I am to wor-ship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that You’re my God.
And You’re al-to-geth-er love-ly, al-to-geth-er wor-thy,
Al-to-geth-er wonderful to me.

*PRAYER OF INVOCATION – Pastor Dan
Living God, we come to you now. We are here to worship you. We need your grace and guidance. There are times when we stray from you. Too often, we fail to embrace the rhythms of life which you provide, God. We allow ourselves to be thrown off stride from the pace that you would have us walk, and we race on ahead at full speed. Being in a hurry has led us and others to become lost on paths that do not follow your way.
God of steadfast love, may we use all of our senses to learn from you. Help us take the risks that go along with letting you lead, Eternal God. Guide us to live in rhythm with you, Christ Jesus; so that we may love extravagantly and give joyfully as you do. Amen.

*PRAISE RESPONSE – God Will Make A Way – worship booklet, p.44
God will make a way where there seems to be no way,
He works in ways we can not see, He will make a way for me
He will be my guide, hold me close-ly to His side,
With love and strength for each new day, He will make a way
He will make a way

CHILDREN’S MESSAGE – Anna DiVesta

*HYMN – I Sing the Almighty Power of God – #6

I sing th’al-might-y pow’r of God That made the mountains rise,
That spread the flow-ing seas a-broad And built the loft-y skies
I sing the wis-dom that or-dained The sun to rule the day;
The moon shines full at His com-mand And all the stars o-bey.

I sing the good-ness of the Lord That filled the earth with food;
He formed the crea-tures with His word And then pro-nounced them good.
Lord, how Thy won-ders are dis-played Where-e’er I turn my eye,
If I sur-vey the ground I tread Or gaze up-on the sky!

There’s not a plant or flow’r be-low But makes Thy glo-ries known;
And clouds a-rise and tem-pests blow By or-der from Thy throne;
While all that bor-rows life from Thee Is ev-er in Thy care,
And ev-ery-where that man can be, Thou, God, art pres-ent there.

SERMON – Pastor Dan

PRAYERS – Pastoral Prayer and the Lord’s Prayer (debts… debtors) – Pastor Dan

*HYMN – Hymn of Promise – #277
In the bulb there is a flow-er; In the seed, an ap-ple tree;
In co-coons, a hid-den prom-ise; But-ter-flies will soon be free!
In the cold and snow of win-ter There’s a spring that waits to be,
Un-re-vealed un-til its sea-son, Some-thing God a-lone can see

There’s a song in ev-ery si-lence, Seek-ing word and mel-o-dy;
There’s a dawn in ev-ery dark-ness, Bring-ing hope to you and me.
From the past will come the fu-ture; What it holds, a mys-ter-y.
Un-re-vealed un-til its sea-son, Some-thing God a-lone can see.

In our end is our be-gin-ning; In our time, in-fin-i-ty.
In our doubt there is be-liev-ing; In our life, e-ter-ni-ty.
In our death a res-ur-rec-tion; At the last, a vic-to-ry.
Un-re-vealed un-til its sea-son, Some-thing God a-lone can see.

    Thou burn-ing sun with gold-en beam,
    Thou silv-er moon with soft-er gleam,
    O praise Him, O praise Him
    Al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia!
  2. Thou rush-ing wind that art so strong,
    Ye clouds that sail in heav’n a-long,

  3. Thou flow-ing wa-ter, pure and clear,
    Make mu-sic for thy Lord to hear,
    Al-le-lu-ia, Al-le-lu-ia!
    Thou fire so mas-ter-ful and bright,
    That giv-est man both warmth and light,
    O praise Him, O praise Him
    Al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia!
  4. And all ye men of ten-der heart,
    For-giv-ing others, take your part,
    O sing ye, Al-le-lu-ia!
    Ye who long pain and sor-row bear,
    Praise God and on Him cast your care,
    O praise Him, O praise Him
    Al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia!
  5. Let all things their Cre-a-tor bless,
    And wor-ship Him in hum-ble-ness,
    O praise Him, Al-le-lu-ia!
    Praise, praise the Fa-ther, praise the Son,
    And praise the Spir-it, three in one,
    O praise Him, O praise Him
    Al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia, al-le-lu-ia!

*PRAYER OF INVOCATION – Pastor Dan
We gather to thank you, Gracious God. Hear our praises! Even in our darkest moments you surround us with a love which is stronger than all of our difficulties, doubts or fears. In worship together, we express our joys and our sorrows. Dear God, you share in all of our emotions, and we are deeply grateful for your genuine caring.
Living God, you are the One who makes us whole. Come to us now, that we may receive glimpses of your Realm Eternal, which is far larger and grander than the conventional focus of our narrow, daily concerns. In the blessed name of Jesus; we await your Word. Amen.

*PRAISE RESPONSE – Seek Ye First – #615

Seek ye first the King-doom of God,
And his right-eous-ness.
And all these things should be add-ed un-to you!
Al-le-lu, al-le-lu ia!

*HYMN – Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee – #13

  1. Joy-ful, joy-ful, we a-dore Thee,
    God of glory, Lord of love;
    Hearts un-fold like flow’rs be-fore Thee,
    Open-in to the sun a-bove.
    Melt the clouds of sin and sad-ness;
    Drive the dark of doubt a-way;
    Giv-er of im-mor-tal glad-ness,
    Fill us with the light of day
  2. All Thy works with joy sur-round Thee,
    Earth and heav’n re-flect Thy rays,
    Stars and an-gels sing a-round Thee,
    Cen-ter of un-bro-ken praise.
    Field and for-est, vale and mount-ain,
    Flow-dry mead-ow, flash-ing sea,
    Chant-ing bird and flow-ing fountain
    Call us to rejoice in Thee.
  3. Thou art giv-ing and for-giv-ing,
    Ev-er bless-ing, ev-er blest,
    Well-spring of the joy of liv-ing,
    Oc-ean-depth of hap-py rest!
    Thou our Fa-ther, Christ our Bro-ther—
    All who live in love are Thine;
    Teach us how to love each oth-er,
    Lift us to the joy di-vine.
  4. Mor-tals join the might-y cho-rus
    Which the morn-ing stars be-gan;
    Fa-ther love is reign-ing o’er us,
    Bro-ther love binds man to man.
    Ev-er sing-ing, march we on-ward,
    Vic-tors in the midst of strife;
    Joy-ful mu-sic leads us sun-ward
    In the tri-umph song of life.

*HYMN – Lord of the Dance – worship booklet, pp. 66-67

  1. I danced in the morn-ing when the world was be-gun,
    And I danced in the moon and the stars and the sun,
    And I came down from heav-en and I danced on the earth.
    At Beth-le-hem I had my birth.

Refrain:
Dance, then, wher-ev-er you may be;
I am the Lord of the Dance, said he.
And I’ll lead you all wher-ev-er you may be,
And I’ll lead you all in the dance, said he.

  1. I danced for the scribe and the Phar-i-see,
    But they would not dance and they would not foll-ow me;
    I danced for the fish-er-men, for James and John;
    They came to me and the dance went on.

Refrain

  1. I danced on the sab-bath when I cured the lame,
    The ho-ly peo-ple said it was a shame;
    They whipped and they stripped and they hung me high;
    And they left me there on a cross to die.

Refrain

  1. I danced on a Fri-day and the sky turned black;
    It’s hard to dance with the de-vil on your back;
    They bur-ied my bo-dy and they thought I’d gone
    But I am the dance and I still go on.

Refrain

  1. They cut me down and I leapt up high,
    I am the life that’ll ne-ver, ne-ver die;
    I’ll live in you if you’ll live in me;
    I am the Lord of the Dance, said he.
