How We Serve God and Our Community
As an active community of faith, we are committed to strengthening our relationship with God and with each other. At Ivy Chapel, this is reflected in everything we do, from our weekly worship services, to our ongoing educational efforts and world outreach activities.
Outreach
Serving Our Community and Beyond
Serving others is important to the Ivy Chapel family. We are proud to provide both financial and volunteer support to a wide range of local, national and international organizations.
Isaiah 58
A South St. Louis agency serving the needs of low-income individuals and families with a food pantry, thrift store, healthy lifestyles programming, and women’s group.
Circle of Concern
An agency serving those in need in the West St. Louis County area, helping needy families get back on their feet through emergency food, financial help, scholarships and employment assistance.
Eden Seminary
Located in Webster Groves, Eden prepares men and women for ordained leadership in the church.
Evangelical Children’s Home
Began as an orphanage in 1858 and now services the needs of troubled children and their families in crisis.
Lydia’s House
Provides a safe place for women and children to escape the ravages of abuse.
Unleashing Potential
Formerly UCC Neighborhood Houses, carrying on a long tradition of caring for the poorest of the city’s poor through school clubs, day care programs, food pantries and other programs.
Neighbors in Need
An all-church offering of the United Church of Christ that expresses our commitment to ministries of justice and compassion throughout the US and Puerto Rico.
One Great Hour of Sharing
A United Church of Christ offering that provides aid to refugees and assists in worldwide emergencies.
Instituto El Rey
Ivy Chapel works with Instituto El Rey, a school in Rio Viejo, Honduras. Our congregation provides monetary support to the school and to several individual students. Members make regular trips to deliver needed supplies and perform maintenance.
Emmaus Homes
Ivy Chapel partners with the Seven Pines Emmaus Home. Residents regularly participate in worship through our Friends and Family Choir and as partners with lay ministers. Emmaus is the largest provider of residential services in Missouri for those with developmental and other cognitive disabilities.
