November News

The Mary and Martha Women’s Group met on Saturday, Nov.17th at Seven Pines Emmaus Home and did a Thanksgiving project with the residents there. Dottie Foster and Jo Ann Moody helped them to make tea light autumn favors and the time and crafting was enjoyed by all.
There will be no December meeting due to the hustle and bustle of the holidays. We look forward to seeing you in 2026!

October News

The Mary and Martha Women’s Group met on October 21st in the Multipurpose Room and were led in devotion by Dottie Foster with a poem about the power of Faith.
We decided that in November we will meet on a Saturday with the women of Seven Pines to make a Thanksgiving Project with them.  The date will probably be Nov. 8 or 15 depending on their plans.  Details will be in the KYP as they become available.
We worked together to decorate favors for Lydia’s House communal Thanksgiving Dinner.  These will be delivered to them soon.

September News
The Mary and Martha Women’s Group met on Aug. 15th and decided to make napkin ring favors for Lydia’s House for their Thanksgiving Dinner Celebration.  We will do this at our next meeting on Sept. 19th and then present them to their representative who will come in October for an update to us about Lydia’s House. A heartfelt Thank You to the Bakers, Helpers and Buyers for Dessert for a Dollar. We will be sending $235.00 to Unleashing Potential because of your efforts and generosity!

August Dessert for $1 Bake Sale
The Dessert for A Dollar Bake Sale will be Aug. 24th after worship in Fellowship Hall.  If you are able to contribute baked goods, there are small plates and plastic bags available August 10th from Kay Kreder and Aug. 17th from Jan Wirtz.
The money will go to Unleashing Potential (formerly Neighborhood Houses) who have Pre-School Education, Before and After School Programs and Summer Camps for city children.  They are concerned about their government funding in the future. Any additional donations will go to this cause.

July Salad Luncheon Fundraiser
A huge Thank You to the providers of the Salad Luncheon and to the amazingly generous donations which are to go to help First Congregational and Pilgrim Congregational UCC Churches which sustained significant damage in the May 16th tornado.  We received $440 for them.
What a Blessing!

April’s Mary & Martha Group Meeting
Mary & Martha joined our friends at Emmanus Seven Pines on Saturday, April 12th to make Easter baskets together. It was a wonderful time enjoyed by all!

A Giant Thank YOU to everyone who donated to our drive last month to fill Welcome Bags for Lydia’s House’s new residents. We received enough for more than 20 bags.  It is much appreciated.
