Think About His Love

Think about His love, think about His goodness. Think about His grace that’s bro’t us through.
For as high as the heavens above, so great is the measure of our Father’s love.
Great is the measure of our Father’s love.

Children’s Message/ Linda

Special Music/ Anna

Scripture Reading/Dan Matthew 18:21-35

Sermon/Prayer/ Dan

Hymn/ “I Then Shall Live” (#133)

I Then Shall Live

  1. I then shall live as one who’s been forgiven; I’ll walk with joy to know my debts are paid.
    I know my name is clear before my Father; I am His child, and I am not afraid.
    So greatly pardoned, I’ll forgive my brother; The law of lover I gladly will obey.
  2. I then shall live as one who’s learned compassion; I’ve been so loved that I’ll risk loving, too.
    I know how fear builds walls instead of bridges; I dare to see another’s poinot of view.
    And when relationships demand commitment, Then I’ll be there to care and follow through.
  3. Your kingdom come around and thru and in me, Your pow’r and glory, let them shine thru me;
    Your pow’r and glory, let them shine thru me; Your Hallowed Name, O may I bear with honor,
    And may Your living Kingdom come in me.
    The Bread of Life, O may I share with honor, And may you fee a hungry world thru me.

Benediction/ Dan

Postlude/ Anna

September 6 Virtual Worship

From all of us at Ivy Chapel, we wish you the best on this Labor Day weekend. Stay tuned over the next few weeks as we look to improve the audio and video for our live streaming worship.

This week’s order of worship:

Prelude/ Anna DiVesta

Invocation/ Rev. Dan Wilson

Hymn/ “In This Very Room” (#125)

In this very room there’s quite enough love for one like me,
And in this very room there’s quite enough joy for one like me;
And there’s quite enough hope, and quite enough pow’r to chase away any gloom,
For Jesus, Lord Jesus, is in this very room.

  1. In this very room there’s quite enough love for all of us,
    And in this very room there’s quite enough joy for all of us;
    And there’s quite enough hope, and quite enough pow’r to chase away any gloom,
    For Jesus, Lord Jesus, is in this very room.
  2. In this very room there’s quite enough lover for all the world,
    And in this very room there’s quite enough joy for all the world;
    And there’s quite enough hope, and quite enough pow’r to chase away any gloom,
    For Jesus, Lord Jesus, is in this very room.

Children’s Message/ Linda Lowry

1st Scripture Reading: Exodus 12:1-14

Special Music/ Anna

Gospel Reading: Matthew 18:15-20

Sermon/Prayer/ Dan

Hymn/ “To God Be the Glory” (# 79)

To God be the glory, great things He hath done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin,
And opened the Lifegate that all may go in.

REFRAIN
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father thro’ Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory, great things He hath done.

  1. O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
    To every believer the promise of God;
    The vilest offender who truly believes,
    That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

REFRAIN

  1. Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
    And great our rejoicing thro’ Jesus the Son;
    But purer, and higher, and greater will be
    Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.

Filed under Livestream Links and Order for Worship

Celebrate with us this week as we take one more step toward live worship!

Here is the order for worship:

Prelude / Anna DiVesta

Invocation (Responsive Call to Worship; and Unison Prayer) / Rev. Dan Wilson

Responsive Call to Worship
One: How majestic is God’s name in all the earth!
All: God is alive in all creation!
One: Everything which God makes is a reflection of God’s goodness.
All: Together, we praise God our Creator!
One: Thanks be to God for this day of life!
All: Let us rejoice and worship God!

Unison Prayer of Invocation
One: Let us pray.
All: God of life, you are a joy to behold! You are always near. Your constant closeness is a blessing. Realizing that you are close by each moment fills us with joy and peace. Every breath we breathe is a gift from you. Our every step, our every word, our every action is visible to you, God. You alone know the burdens that we are carrying. Sometimes our journey seems to go on forever, and we feel as though we never get any rest. Yet you are aware of our fatigue, God. This opportunity to receive nourishment from you fills us with gladness.

We thank you, God, that your revelation does not come to us because we are worthy. No, the truth is, you simply reveal things to people because you are a Gracious and Loving God.

Open our hearts to receive the gifts you would like to offer your Church during this time of worship. Jesus, you are our Risen Savior. We have heard your invitation to come to you. We long to walk in your footsteps and to live in your ways, Jesus. May we follow your lead and get behind you.

O Spirit of Christ, breathe upon us and breathe within us now as we worship you. Amen.

Hymn / “Majesty” (#4)

Majesty

Majesty, worship His majesty. Unto Jesus be all glory, honor and praise.
Majesty, kind authority flow from His throne unto His own; His anthem raise.

So exalt, lift up on high the name of Jesus. Magnify, come, glorify Christ Jesus the King.

Majesty, worship His majesty. Unto Jesus be all glory, honor and praise.
Majesty, kind authority flow from His throne unto His own; His anthem raise.

So exalt, lift up on high the name of Jesus. Magnify, come, glorify Christ Jesus the King.

Majesty, worship His Majesty; Jesus who died, now glorified, King of all kings.

Children’s Message / Linda Lowry

Special Music / Anna

Scripture Reading / Dan Matthew 16:21-28

Sermon and Prayer / Dan

Hymn / “Wherever He Leads I’ll Go” (#543)

Wherever He Leads I’ll Go

  1. “Take up thy cross and follow me,” I heard my Master say;
    “I gave My life to ransom thee, Surrender your all today.”

REFRAIN
Wherever He leads I’ll go, Wherever H leads I’ll go,
I’ll follow my Christ who loves me so, Wherever H leads I’ll go.

    And in that will I now abide, Wherever He leads I’ll go.

REFRAIN

  1. It may be through the shadows dim, Or o’er the stormy sea,
    I take my cross and follow Him, Wherever He leaders me.

Thanks for watching this week’s online worship with Ivy Chapel United Church of Christ. Stay tuned over the next few weeks, as we’ll be making changes to improve the experience.

This week’s hymns:

Great Is Thy Faithfulness

  1. Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father,
    There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
    Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not;
    As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

REFRAIN
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided-
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

  1. Summer and winter, and springtime and harvest,
    Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
    Join with all nature in manifold witness
    To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

REFRAIN

  1. Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
    Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
    Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
    Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

REFRAIN

Pass Me Not

  1. Pass me not, O gentle Savior – Hear my humble cry!
    While on others Thou art calling, Do not pass me by.

CHORUS
Savior, Savior, Hear my humble cry!
While on others Thou art calling, Do not pass me by.

  1. Let me at a throne of mercy Find a sweet relief;
    Kneeling there in deep contritions, Help my unbelief.

CHORUS

  1. Trusting only in Thy merit, Would I seek Thy face;
    Heal my wounded, broken spirit, Save me by Thy grace.

CHORUS

  1. Thou the spring of all my comfort, More than life to me!
    Whom have I on earth beside Thee? Whom in heav’n but Thee?

This week’s hymns:

It Took a Miracle

  1. My Father is omnipotent, And that you can’t deny;
    A God of might and miracles – ’Tis written in the sky.

REFRAIN
It took a miracle to put the stars in place,
It took a miracle to hang the world in space;
But when He saved my soul, Cleansed and made me whole,
It took a miracle of love and Grace.

  1. Tho’ here His glory has been shown, We still can’t fully see
    The wonders of His might, His throne, ’Twill take eternity.

REFRAIN

  1. The Bible tells us of His pow’r And wisdom all way thro’:
    And every little bird and flow’r Are testimonies, too.

REFRAIN

Here, O my Lord, I see Thee

  1. Here, O my Lord, I see Thee face to face;
    Here would I touch and handle things unseen,
    Here grasp with firmer hand th’eternal grace,
    And all my weariness upon Thee lean.
  2. Here would I feed upon the bread of God;
    Here drink with Thee the royal wine of heav’n;
    Here would I lay aside each earthly load,
    Here taste afresh the calm of sin forgiv’n.
  3. I have no help but Thine; nor do I need
    Another arm save Thine to lean upon;
    It is enough, my Lord, enough indeed;
    My strength is in Thy might, Thy might alone.
  4. Mine is the sin, but Thine the righteousness;
    Mine is the guilt, but Thine the cleansing blood.
    Here is my robe, my refuge, and my peace,
    Ty blood, Thy righteousness, O Lord, my God.
